Description
This article focuses on the Security Access Control System, specifically the RFID card based system. This system incorporates biometric, GSM, and RFID technology to meet the security needs of organizations such as hostels or banks. By installing RFID card readers at entrances, the system captures the user’s image and scans it for matching in the database, while also verifying their RFID card tag. If both identifications match the registered database, the user is allowed entry. If there is invalid verification, a GSM based alarm system alerts security guards, making it an effective suspicious person identification system.
The cost of this system is low, around 2k, making it affordable to design. The necessary materials, such as GSM modems, cameras, alarm systems, RFID card readers, RFID card tags, and controllers, are readily available in the market. High pixel resolution cameras are recommended for capturing quality images for processing. A GSM modem SIM900 with a baud rate of 9600 can be used, along with a simple buzzer alarm circuitry for security alerts. The use of RFID card tags and readers enhances the security of the system, making it suitable for high-security environments like banks and hostels.
The RFID based security access control system is cost-effective, with low installation and maintenance costs. Its three-level security modules ensure a high level of security identification accuracy. Additionally, the system is environmentally friendly and resistant to rainwater damage due to its indoor placement.
The project utilizes various technologies, including Embedded C Language for hardware interface coding, PHP for business logic and web interface, MySQL for database management, Apache 2 for server hosting, JavaScript for form validations and animations, and jQuery Library for additional functionalities like calendars.
